The masons have set up shop all around the house, and the back yard is full of their tools and scaffolding.
The front yard holds their mixing station...sand pile, wheel barrows, water barrel....
They began bricking the storage building and then moved to the back of the house. When we arrived on Wednesday afternoon we noticed that they had already started working on the sides of the house.
Below is the back view of the garage side of the house.
I will apologize for the glares in most of these pictures. I'm thankful that there is still some light by the time we get home in the afternoons. I can't believe that the days are already getting shorter. Fall is in the air...which means we're getting that much closer to moving in!!
They have finished the lower part of the back side of the house and have started moving up between the doors of the outdoor living area.
You can tell in these pictures just how dark the brick and mortar look when it first goes on. We were really nervous for the first few days that we'd picked the wrong color.
Below you can tell how much the mortar lightened up from the day before. Thankfully it is turning into the color we had picked out!
This is the area we'll put an outdoor shower.
We also decided to go with tank-less water heaters.
The brown trim is being installed.
Husband's storage building is almost finished.
...and he is already making plans for what will go in here!
We have had a marathon of meetings lately with the next round of Subs. I can't wait to start showing you the inside details as they unfold!
