Cartwheels and Snakes

Thursday afternoon Husband called me at work to say that we needed to head home as soon as possible. The school nurse had called him to say that G had hurt her arm while playing at school. When we finally got home and talked to G about what happened, we got quite the story:

Husband: How did you hurt your arm?
G: We were outside and a boy was doing a cartwheel and he landed on my arm.
Husband: So this happened at PE?
G: No sir. We were just outside...
Husband: What were you doing outside?
G: Waiting for them to get the snake out of our room.
Husband: A snake in your classroom?
G: Uh-huh. It was on the keyboard.
Husband: ...but it was a fake, rubber snake?
G: It was a real, baby snake on her keyboard. And we went outside while they got it out...
Husband: What did your teacher say?
G: Oh, we had a substitute...

...and then we went on to the doctor. Turns out there were no broken bones, just a really deep bruise.
And that was our Thursday.
