Pajama Party in the Snow

The best thing about the cabin was that we didn't have to get dressed to go anywhere...So we didn't! The biggest concern of our day was what we were going to eat and who would be the ones making it. Our first morning "Sheryl" made the bacon...

while our resident Lumberjack made waffles. They were breakfast champions...calling out orders like they were Waffle House employees and yelling at people for 'getting behind the line.'

There was so much snow outside that we couldn't just look at it! We had to get out there in it...

(and we needed to use it! The chair made the best outdoor cooler!)

We donned our coats and scarves to go out in the snow...in our pajamas!

Some of the boys were big wimps and chose to stay in the warm cabin...sipping their coffee.

Don't worry..."Flygirl" was prepared for them when they emerged!

Wit a snowball right in the ear!!!!

And that was how the Great Snowball fight of 2010 began! Several of us retreated off the deck in search of more ammunition while the others remained on higher ground.

I, and my pink mittens, hid right behind these trees for cover!

I believe Lumberjack finished the fight...

...while his sous chef made snow angels in the battlefield.

After the war, everyone called a truce and became friends again...

...couples made up...

Well, almost...

After we could no longer feel our faces, we were forced to call it a day and return to our homestead to relax and play games...and eat! We'd worked up quite the appetite. The next chef fired up the grill for chicken and tuna one night and mouth watering steak and potatoes the next night. He was appointed executive Chef of the weekend and wore the hounds tooth apron.

We did get dressed to welcome in the new year. Flygirl and MVP got out the sparklers for a bit of countdown practice.

The best way to end a year is with the same people you started it with.

...and that is exactly what we did.

Cheers!

Welcome 2011! I look forward to what you may hold.
