Three months in the books

I know it is super cliche, but I can't believe how fast time is flying by! This time last year we didn't even know about our sixth family member, and now Six is here and almost four months old!

What about that hair do!!!

...and those lips!

And as any good Southern baby should boast, her first real outing was to church when she was just two weeks old.

Six was able to wear my little dress that Mom dressed me in for my first trip to church when I was two weeks old.
*insert 'awwwwe' here*

The gross, little belly-button-thing fell off after about a week, and unlike Smalls, this little girl LOVES a good bath! Which is nice, because we gotta do something to help tame all that hair!

Smalls loves being a big sister now and enjoys being a helper.
It is also crazy to me how, literally overnight, Smalls looks so much bigger!!

I'm not sure if she's super protective of her baby or if she's just not ready to give up her old room quite yet, but Smalls likes to nap in the tent in the nursery. (Hey, a nap is a nap and I'll take it any way I can get it!!)

And what good is a new baby sister if you can't pretend she's your new doll and dress her up all the time!?!?!

Even Louie seems to be smitten by his new human.

There ya have it... We're just loving life and gradually adjusting to this sweet little chunk!

There ya have it! Nothing too exciting... I mean, she couldn't really do much the first couple of months, which is probably a good thing, because I was too tired to even blink.

Now, things are much fun. She actually recognizes us, smiles all the time, laughs out loud, rolls over, and more importantly doesn't eat every two hours and sleeps through the night!!

Christening

This little girl is so blessed to be surrounded by such a large family and group of friends that are dedicated to helping her to grow up hearing about God and teaching her to trust in Him.

We were able to plan her christening ceremony around Grandpa's art show schedule,
(Just as any good Adams' event should be!!)

This is the church that Husband grew up in, so it is extra special to be able to raise our girls in this same church family. Also, Six was able to wear the same dress that Smalls wore for her christening.

Smalls was just a little bit concerned about why Rev Ed was putting water on her baby's head.

Just a few family pictures from the day...

Sweet baby girl did so well for the entire ceremony and church, but let us know what she thought about all the pictures! :)

Party of Six

Husband is such a good girl-daddy that we just had to have another!
(I told him he should have been a little more specific when he prayed to be surrounded by women!)

Sweet little Porcupine made her grand appearance on June 2nd, which just so happens to be my birthday!

So, maybe she'll actually look a little like me :)

She already has all the big sisters right where she wants them!

Smalls is sooo in love and declares at least once a day that 'we should keep this baby girl.'

Smalls is also keeping me on my toes because she is extremely helpful and tells everyone that "big sistas can do it all by myself."

Beth Milton took these one-week-old pictures for us, and I'm so thankful that we were able to take some family photos while she was here too!

I love this one so much!! and neeeeed it as a water color painting!

Slowly but surely we're getting adjusted to our new phase of life and living on a newborn's schedule.

I can't believe she's already three months old now!

I feel like, this time around, things are more bearable because I know just how quickly each phase will pass by. I can handle the sleepless nights, numerous feedings, and thousands of diapers because I know that it does get better!

And just like all the seasoned moms have warned, babies don't keep.
Soon I will have uninterrupted sleep, just worry about what's for breakfast and dinner, and only ask if she remembered to wash her hands.

Soon, this little nugget will be telling me 'all by myself' as she changes into her third outfit of the day and drags a step stool around to turn on/off all the lights.

(The book in this picture is Uncle Wiggily and the Littletails...which my grandmother used to read to me when I was a wee little tot!)

Soon these little piggies will be running to catch up with those big sisters.

So, yes! We're alive and well and loving life and just trying to soak it all up!!

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go rock this little Porcupine before I blink and she's starting kindergarten!
